  • The 7316-TF3 uses PS/2 connectors. The POWER5 (p5) systems do not
directly support PS/2 keyboard and mouse connections. In order to attach
a 7316-TF3 to POWER5 systems, one or more Keyboard/Video/Mouse (LCM)
Switch (feature number 4202) are required, along with one or more USB
Conversion Options Cables (feature number 4269), depending on how many
servers are to be connected to the 7316-TF3.

  • The 7316-TF3 uses PS/2 connectors. The POWER5 servers (p5, i5 1
OpenPower) do not directly support PS/2 keyboard and mouse
connections. POWER4 servers (pSeries) do support PS/2 keyboard and
mouse connections, so TF3 can be connected to these systems.

To use a 7316-TF3 with POWER5 servers it should be attached to
a Hardware Management Console (e.g. 7310-CR2) which is in turn
connected to one or more POWER5 servers.

  • The scroll function supported by the center button on a 3-button
mouse is not supported by the PS/2 Travel Keyboards.
