    (SCSI-FCP and FICON) host adapters can be installed in an ESS in any
    combination. The ESCON adapter has two ports; the Fibre Channel adapter
    has one port. They are installed within four host adapter bays (each
    cluster contains two bays) and can communicate with either cluster (cache
    and NVS).

    This feature ensures that the maximum shipping weight of the ESS
    will not exceed 2,000 pounds during the initial shipment.

    The weight of the ESS is reduced by removing selected components,
    which will be shipped separately. The components will be installed
    into the machine by the IBM Customer Engineer during machine
    installation. This feature will increase the machine installation
    time and should only be ordered if required.
