Abstract

The IBM 8863 Express models of the xSeries(R) 366 server are powered with the 64-bit Intel** Xeon** MP processors at up to 3.66 GHz. The xSeries(R) 366 server contains advanced third-generation Enterprise X-Architecture** technologies that combine four-way SMP-capable power, Active PCI-X 2.0 expansion, high availability, and substantial internal data storage capacity.

The 8863 IBM eServer xSeries Model E7U has a 4x3.66 GHz Xeon processors, 1 MB cache, 8 GB ECC memory, open bay, SAS SCSI Interface, 2 power supplies, and U.S. English language support.

The 8863 IBM eServer xSeries Model E6U has a 1x3.16 GHz Xeon processors, 1 MB cache, 2 GB ECC memory, open bay, SAS SCSI Interface, 2 power supplies, and U.S. English language support.

IBM eServer xSeries 366 servers are rack-optimized 3 U enterprise application network servers using industry-standard architectures. These models incorporate powerful Xeon MP processors. Additional standard features include standard ECC Chipkill system memory and the following integrated functions:

  • Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) controller
  • Six Active PCI-X 2.0 Slots @ 64-bit/266 MHz
  • SVGA video controller with 8 MB of video memory
  • Integrated Broadcom 5704 Dual-port 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet

Standard storage device includes a DVD-ROM.

  • The IBM eServer xSeries 366 has four-way SMP capability by adding multiple processors of the same type, speed, and cache size.

  • System memory can be expanded to 64 GB by removing the standard DIMMs, increasing the number of memory expansion card options to four and adding 4 GB PC2-3200 CL3x4 ECC DDR2 SDRAM RDIMM in each of the 4 DIMM sockets

  • This model contains six unpopulated, hot-swap bays

They provide six storage expansion bays and six expansion slots. Two 1300-watt, hot-swap power supplies with auto restart capability are standard.

  • Six Active PCI-X 2.0 Slots @ 64-bit/266 MHz

The IBM eServer xSeries 366 standard features include:

  • ServerGuide contains online publications and drivers to support the xSeries 366 server. In addition, it includes a set of easy-to-use utilities on CD to help you install several popular network operating systems.

  • IBM Director systems management software is included.
