(#9005) Drive Unit Attachment Greater Than 8 Frames
This feature notifies the plant of control that this Tape Drive
Expansion Frame is attached to the Model Lxx in a position greater than
the first eight frames of the 3494. This feature is required to assure
that the proper cables for connection to the Model Lxx are shipped, and
the configuration records are correct. This feature code is required on
the Model D14 and the associated Model Lxx for new orders and string
reconfigurations. An RPQ must be processed prior to any 3494 frame
reconfiguration to ensure that the proper cables are available for that
reconfiguration and future changes/enhancements and to update plant
records.
Maximum: One per Model D14.
Factory or field installable.
(#9040) High Availability Attachment
This feature code must be ordered on all new factory orders of the
Models B16 VTS, D10, D12, or D14 when they will be attaching to a 3494
that contains a Model HA1 Frames. This feature notifies the plant that a
High Availability Unit is attached to the 3494 so the proper associated
hardware and interface cables are shipped. This feature code is required
only on new factory orders of the Models B16 VTS, D10, D12, and D14. It
is not required on these models if Model HA1 Frames are added later to
the 3494 as this hardware will be included with the Model Lxx MES.

If any device in the 3494 that contains Model HA1 Frames attaches to a
host system that uses direct attachment for library control (AS/400,
RS/6000, Sun, HP, and native VSE/ESA), then this feature must be
specified on all models of the 3494 shipping from the plant with the
Model HA1 Frames.

or 3592 Model J70 Controller
to the library manager in the Model L10, L12, L14, L22,
or HA1 through the
Attachment Concentrator (#5232). When connected this way, the Model A60
Controller does not require a tape control unit connection on the library
manager.
Maximum: One. Either one feature #9060 or #9061 must be specified on
the Model D14 when a 3590 Model A60 is installed. One of feature #9060
or #9061 must also be specified on the Model L10, L12, L14 or L22
for each
3590 Model A60 or 3592 Model J70 installed in the 3494.
Prerequisite: Feature #5232 on
the Model L10, L12, L14 or L22.
Field Installation: Yes.

A60 or J70 Controller requires a tape control
unit connection on the library
manager (similar to the way the 3590 Model A50 Controller is connected).
Maximum: One. Either one feature #9060 or #9061 must be specified on
the Model D14 when a 3590 Model A60 or J70 is installed.
One of feature #9060 or #9061 must also be specified on the
Model L10, L12, L14, or L22 for each
3590 Model A60 or 3592 Model J70 installed in the 3494.

an external customer-supplied fibre channel switch or directly connect to
the controller.
The customer is responsible for providing the cables from the 3592
Model J70 installed in a Model D24 Frame to a customer-supplied fibre
channel switch. (Cables from the switch or controller
to the 3592 Model J1A Tape Drives can be ordered with the 3592
Tape Drives or supplied by the customer.)
This feature on the frame indicates that the customer is providing
the cables from the 3592 Model J70 to a customer supplied fibre
