DS4000 Mini Hub

Mini Hubs and small formfactor pluggable (SFP) Gigabit Interface Converters (GBICs) support optical fibre cabling from the DS4400 to other DS4000 devices. The high-density Mini Hub contains two ports and support for short-or long-wave small form factor pluggable (SFP) GBICs. The DS4400 supports up to four host and four drive Mini Hubs (two hosts and two drive Mini Hubs are included as standard).

Short-and Long-Wave SFP GBICs

These SFP GBICs are used to connect cables into the DS4400 and other 2 Gbps fibre channel products. They provide short-and long-wave FC connections to other DS4000 devices. They support the following installations:

  • Short-wave SFP GBIC - Distances up to 300 m (.18 miles)
  • Long-wave SFP GBIC - Distances of up to 10 Km (6.2 miles)

Cable Options

Four cable options provide connection flexibility for attaching these DS4000 products to each other and to existing DS4000 products.

  • 1 M LC-LC Fibre Channel Cable
  • 5 M LC-LC Fibre Channel Cable
